Eating Out: Must-Try Bites At Little Bao
I WILL EAT HERE ALWAYS AND FOREVER.
That is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Little Bao, the inventive (and totally addictive) boa bun spot from local culinary star May Chow.
Bao buns have been nicknamed here as “Chinese burgers,” but I think the analogy belittles Chow’s creations, which pair complex Asian flavors typically reserved for fancy shmancy restaurants in a super friendly fast-casual setting. If this was a food truck in NYC, I would have had it at my wedding. And then I would have asked Chow if I could drive the truck for her all around the five boroughs.
The chef has said that she drew inspiration for Little Bao from American diners, so it’s no surprise that a stool at the counter is the best seat in the house. Order every single thing on the menu and never look back.
